- A postgraduate (PhD, MSc, or postgraduate diploma) qualification in natural hazards, engineering, and/or earth sciences (e.g., geography, risk management, hazards management, disaster risk & resilience).
- A minimum of five years of work experience in a relevant field, linked or related to the disciplines detailed above.
- A strong understanding of key natural hazard risk management concepts.
- Strong plain English writing and communication skills, that allow you to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and audiences.
- Experience in providing sound, practical, and technical advice, and writing and synthesising strategic policy.
- Strong relationships across the Aotearoa New Zealand engineering and natural hazard risk management sector.
