- Perform internal audit over inventory cycle counts process. Same for Wall-to-wall inventory count if ever needed.
- Act as Operations liaison and identify and manage any finance risks.
- Liaise with FP&A for the reporting of global costs of goods sold.
- Responsible for inventory reconciliation by location and inventory reserve analysis for EMEA slow moving, excess, and obsolete inventory.
- Liaise with FP&A monitoring facility assets, Capex projects, Internal Orders control.
- Assist with monthly closing, including preparing and inputting journal entries
- Conduct variance analysis on general ledger accounts and identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare quarterly (for corrections) and annual re-roll of standard costs, review and compare actual cost to standard cost, analyze data and prepare purchase price variance analysis and journals.
- Prepare quarterly and year-end audit schedules and lead all inventory related audit inquiries.
- Assist in responding to government reports and prepare supporting schedules.
- Actively support Pelican’s quality and safety objectives and contribute to quality and safety management system activities as assigned.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by manager.
- Must have 6+ years’ experience in general cost accounting and at least 4 in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
- Must have in-depth knowledge of Accounting Principles and procedures in DEGAAP, having knowledge in USGAAP an advantage.
- Must have excellent English language skills, having German and/or Czech language knowledge is an advantage.
- Multinational experience in an industrial/operations environment preferred.
- Must have excellent analytical and organizational skills and be detail oriented.
- Must have excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills.
- Must be proficient with Excel; experience with SAP or large ERP system preferred.
- Previous experience or exposure to Bill of Materials utilizing an MRP platform preferred.
- Must have the ability to complete assignments within time frame specified.
- Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
- Must be flexible with work schedules and be available to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.
- Must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
