The Manager – Corporate Actions (Event Management) is responsible for the complete, accurate and timeous identification and processing of all Corporate Action Events on the Apex fund administration platforms and the timeous instruction of elective events in the market.Outline of main duties and responsibilitiesThe main responsibilities of the role will be:
  • Monitoring of service delivery by the teams in terms of SLA and managing clients’ expectations regarding deliverables
  • Management of the team responsible for service delivery of the various functions
  • Management and co-ordination of team deliverables relating to projects and new client/fund onboarding
  • Providing mentorship and motivation to staff and ensuring that appropriate knowledge sharing and skills training are provided
  • Aligning the teams’ strategies and KPIs to that of the broader Fund Services strategy
  • Risk Management:
  • Managing risk in the teams’ activities by reviewing processes and ensuring that adequate controls are in place at all times
  • Reviewing incidents and corrective actions to ensure continuous improvements through the Apex risk management framework
  • Relationship Management:
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with external and internal clients
  • Ensuring that an SLA is in place and adhered to
  • Working closely with the Client Management teams to ensure clients receive the optimal service levels
  • Product Management:
  • Assessing opportunities for efficiencies and reduced overhead in existing processes, including new technologies and vendors
  • Collaboration with technology and development teams to implement process optimization initiatives
Skills and experience requiredThe successful candidate will:
  • B.Com or similar tertiary business study and at least 5 years’ experience in Asset Management and/or Administration
  • Minimum of 2 years in a managerial role
  • Strong industry knowledge and experience, specifically within Corporate Actions
  • Ability to manage leaders and projects in an agile environment
Reporting structureThe Manager – Corporate Actions (Event Management) will report to the Senior Manager – Investment Operations (Valuations).
