Qualifications & ExperienceQualifications:
- Grade 12/Matric
- Tertiary qualification advantageous.
- 5 - 10 years industry related experience.
- Forwarding and clearing of import cargo in accordance with Client requirements.
- Receive instructions / purchase order from Client.
- Register purchase oder / indent on Cargowise Order Manager.
- Track Client consignments from time of receipt or shipping instruction to arrival at destination in accordance with Incoterm.
- Liaise with Emo and report on readiness status of export shipments to relevant stakeholders.
- Track documentation flow from time of shipment to time of receipt in BIL and Emo Offices.
- once pre alert is received, create clearing file on CW and update.
- Follow up with shipping line for arrival notification; direct and transshipment.
- On receipt of ANF, update file (including invoicing amount).
- Clearing of Import cargo in accordance with Client requirements and SARS regulations ensiring that carrier deadlines are met for release of containers.
- Expedite cargo with carriers, terminals, depots and other transport operators.
- Keep system updated with all communication and applicable documentation received (E Docs).
- Generate proforma invoice in accordance with Client rate structure and transaction disbursements ensuring accurate billing.
- Ensure that all milestones are updated timeously for accurate reporting and data integrity.
- Ensure that all disbursements are recorded and recovered.
- Ensure proforma invoice is quality controlled, then generate Tax invoice.
- Process and distribute documentation in accordance with Client requirements (Client document packs to be sent timeously (within KPI) to avoid late payments.
- Update POD milestone and empty turn in mile stones to close files.
- Carry out acquittal procedures if required.
- Initiate claims in respect of lost, damaged or discrepant cargo.
- Handle queries from Clients, stakeholders and departments.
- Supply Chain knowledge; advantageous.
- Strong proven working knowledge of International Forwarding.
- Working knowledge of Export and Import; Air and Ocean processes.
- Good working knowledge of Incoterms.
- Good knowledge of freight rates and related charges.
- Understanding of estimates.
- Knowledge of customs requirements.
- Financial knowledge regarding file profitability and losses.
- Well - developed communication and negotiation skills essential.
- Well - developed computer literacy skills (MS Office).
- CargoWise1 (CW) expert an advantage.
- Well - developed inter-personal skills coupled with expert written and verbal communication.
- Sound planning and organisational skills.
- Systematic, logical and analytical approach to problem solving.
