This work involves integration and testing of the ARGOS facility upgrade to prepare for NASA’s return to the Moon. ARGOS provides a reduced gravity environment used for engineering analysis, astronaut trials, and training for space operations in microgravity or lower gravity on a planetary surface. A payload such as an astronaut or robot is strapped into the ARGOS gimbal so that the system removes the effects of Earth’s gravity. This will support NASA’s deep-space exploration initiative and the return to the moon and on to Mars. The engineer will support ARGOS system upgrades including offloader assemblies, document integration efforts and tests, project design reviews, verification and validation (V&V), provide inputs for operational test procedures and certification for operations, and the Systems Engineer Lead in all SE&I related matters. This position requires a self-motivated, capable person with strong verbal and written communication skills. In addition to outstanding technical expertise, the individual must be very people savvy, strong customer relationship skills, possess a positive team-player attitude, be flexible and willing to take on new assignments and responsibilities as they arise.
