Job Summary The company is an electrical automation business based Pinetown KZN. Looking for a Drive technician to repair, install and service existing VSDs as well commission new general purpose drive installations. The role is a hybrid role between site and the office. Candidates will also need to interpret electrical drawings in fault finding situations. Objectives of the role 1. Support the technical department in carrying out board level repairs and VSD testing. 2. Support the technical department with drive installations and removal. 3. Record necessary information on reports so we have a historic database to refer back to 4. To understand electronic principles for drives. 5. To detect electrical problems with drives. 6. Exercise accuracy and professionalism in repair work. 7. Manage all assigned jobs as per the companies requirements to provide smooth workflow in our business management system Responsibilties 1. Fault find and perform board level repairs on variable speed drives 2. Run testing of variable speed drives to simulate faults 3. Run testing of variable speed drives after repairs are carried out 4. Install and commission variable speed drives 5. Keep an accurate time sheet and enter labour hours into job management system 6. Perform fault finding on equipment on site if required. 7. Sourcing of parts and creation of quotes that include estimation of labour Required Skills 1. Proven working experience in an electronic technicans role 2. Solid understanding of electrical principles and electronic signals 3. Proven ability to fault find using electrical drawings 4. Detail orientated and organised 5. Hands-on experience with variable speed drives 6. Well Spoken English Language 7. Proficient in Microsoft word and excel 8. Customer service driven 9.
