- The supervision and production of monthly accounts for a number of European Companies within the business - US GAAP reporting.
- The review of balance sheet account analyses on a monthly basis.
- Assist in the production of quarterly and year end accounts, liaison with auditors thereon. Ensuring US reporting requirements met.
- Aid where necessary in statutory accounts production under local GAAP accounting rules
- Completion of certain taxation matters, VAT and some corporate
- Responsibility for Fixed Assets for relevant Claire’s entities
- Involved in Operating Lease Accounting requirements for Claire’s Europe
- Assist with the development and maintenance of accounting and reporting systems to accommodate business changes
- Ensure all SOX requirements through the business are complied with
- Involvement in developing, enhancing business control systems. Ensuring business control systems are also complied with
- Produce regular and ad hoc reports for Senior Management and External Audit
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly reforecasts, to provide up to date information to the Board and senior management for strategic planning
- Liaise with US Group company
- Provide assistance to the Finance Team as required
- Production of ad hoc information and analysis when required
- Qualified Accountant with post qualification experience gained in industry
- Experience in preparation of month end accounts, preferably for a multi-sited / departmental organisation (preferable)
- Experience of a retail environment (preferable)
- Experience of accounts preparation for Non UK based operations (preferable)
- Advanced excel and general Microsoft Office skills
- Able to speak a European language (desirable)
