About this role:Flexible Hybrid working - 3 days a week together in our Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham or Bristol Digital Hub (flexible 2 days wherever).At BT, we take a user-centered and iterative approach to digital product design to ensure the best experiences for our customers across their journeys. This means we step into the shoes of our customers, to understand how they interact with us digitally and what they expect from our products and services.As Product Design Manager, you’ll balance a rigorous user-centric perspective with the ability to make bold decisions and help the team move the product and people forward in a fast-paced environment.BT Design Managers are responsible for quality assurance of the design final product. They stay close to the squads to provide a trusted design leadership, empowering their chapters to run their own crits but stepping in where needed to set and maintain standards of work.
You will also act as a final arbiter of design prioritisation. Great design requires lots of iteration, and excellent work often ends up being deferred due to shifting priorities. With their knowledge of design capacity within their alliance, design managers make the final call on design priorities if it cannot be resolved at squad level.You will help to grow an amazingly talented design team and to positively impact the lives of the millions of customers that engage with us bringing them close to the things that matter most to them.   • You will be responsible for defining, delivering vision and leadership within your own UX & Design team.
  • Accountable for the consistency within your own UX & Design team, the direction set as well as the output of that team.
  • Design execution & delivery - You will be responsible for UX and design leadership and execution – ensuring the team are understanding and translating user needs and business goals into compelling usable and consistent journeys, digital products and services for our customers.
  • Continuous improvement - You will advance how product design engages with user research and data analysis to ensure our approach is evidence based, user centred and drives our experience design decisions.
  • Human driven approach - Lead or oversee experience UX & design efforts on major strategic initiatives across their area of accountability.

You'll have the following skills & experience:
  • Interaction Design & Prototyping - defining the order and experience of the users activities within the digital touch-points.
  • Visual Design & Finesse - crafting interactions into a simple and delightful user interface.
  • User Journey Mapping - designing end to end journeys with needs and data at their heart.
  • User Research & Testing - discovering issues and needs regular qualitative learning.
  • Data Analysis, MVT & A/B Testing – analysing behaviours and appetites using regular quantative learning.
