They have a proven track record of success and aim to provide exceptional returns for investors and high-quality workspaces for their tenants.About the Role: Senior Property AccountantReporting to the Manager and Supervisor of Property Accounting, the Senior Property Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and reliable financial reporting for a designated portfolio of commercial properties. This role provides essential support to property managers and administrators.Responsibilities- Maintain accurate property accounting records for the assigned commercial portfolio.- Generate monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.- Assist with capital project cost reconciliation and analysis.- Enter journal entries and A/R adjustments.- Prepare annual Common Area Maintenance (CAM), tax adjustments, and year-end audit working paper files.- Perform month-end activities, including balance sheet reconciliations and financial statement preparation.- Assist with budget preparation and various other finance department functions.- Support property administration staff with financial inquiries and management of properties.- Analyze property records, address outstanding issues, and attend monthly financial review meetings.- Monitor cash flow for assigned properties and prepare monthly HST reconciliations.- Provide professional and efficient communication with employees, tenants, and vendors.Qualifications- Degree or Diploma in Accounting or a related field.- CPA designation required.- Minimum of three years of accounting experience within the commercial property management industry.- Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.- Experience with Yardi property management software.- Understanding of real estate terminology.- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.- Strong Excel skills and knowledge of real estate accounting systems.- A positive, team-oriented attitude and a willingness to learn and develop.- Problem-solving mindset with an ability to identify solutions and take action.- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and demonstrate integrity in decision-making.Intrigued by this position and think you might be a good fit?
