Shake-out Operator - Cape TownFull job descriptionPurposeTransfer freshly poured moulds from the pouring line to the storage lines, maintain casting sequence.Cool the poured moulds for the required time, according to the metal grade to ensure proper solidification.Transfer cooled moulds to the shake-out table.Operate the shake-out table and cooler/classifier unit in accordance with the procedure and practices.Feed the shake-out table at the required rate to ensure the correct sand temperature.Remove the casting tree from the shakeout table.Break off the runners and risers and place in a separate container.Place all castings from the same heat in the same container for transport to fettling.Assist in preparing the pouring line for the next heat.Clean shake-out table and work area at end of shift, maintaining a clean and tidy workQualificationsPendent crane licenseSafety AwarenessQuality AwarenessTolerance for stress to meet deadlines / efficiencies.Attention to detail.Good eyesight and hearingPhysical strength (lift +/- 25kgs), safe lifting practiceStand for long periods of time.Must be performance driven and results orientated.Must be decisive and take ownership for decisions.Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:Ability to work under pressure and keep focus.AccuracyAttention to detail.Good communication skillsSelf-motivatedGood planning and organizing skills.Working in a team environmentProactiveBe open to learn new skills.This is an employment equity position and preference will be given to PDI in line with the Company’s EE plan.Please note that candidates whose applications do not meet the above criteria will not be considered.Job Type: Full-timeApplication Deadline: 2024/05/23
