- Analysing Supply Chain Data and Performance
- Create the company’s supply chain strategy.
- Lead time form PO to Import Permit.
- Shipping integrity versus PO dates.
- Transit times versus PO lead times.
- Analyse data from shipping and delivering processes to identify bottlenecks.
- Customer delivery/intake analysis.
- In-store dwell time.
- Find cost-effective solutions for supply chain processes.
- Evaluate and report on KPIs.
- Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth.
- Ensuring order levels are optimised in terms of market demand/trends.
- Ensuring sufficient product on the water to meet demand/commitments.
- Ensuring that in store stock levels are maintained to meet our commitments and the market demands.
- Identifying possible swop out opportunities.
- Understanding our clients’ production requirements and ensuring an optimal stock level is maintained to meet the demand (production-based products).
- Ensuring that the costing model integrity is maintained.
- Critical analysis of internal Standard Operating Procedures and ensuring compliance with the same.
- Liaise with Customers, Freight Forwarders, and Operations departments ensuring the management of and the day-to-day oversight of the Road Freight Export team, as a unit and for each individual cross trade market.
- Active engagement with external service providers on Standard Operating Procedures to ensure strategic alignment and adherence.
- Developing and strengthening internal and external relationships that lead to increased efficiency and reduced export costs.
- New market development in terms of ensuring that there is a good understanding of destination requirements eg pre-shipment inspections, certificates of origin, special packaging requirements, dangerous goods etc. that are incorporated into the Standard Operating Procedure for the respective market.
- Training on all Standard Operating Procedures both internally and externally.
- All and any other related tasks and duties as required by the employer from time to time.
- A full understanding of the Import/Export Logistics process with experience in frozen and perishable goods.
- A degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or similar field.
- Must have a full understanding of supply chain processes.
- Experience in import and export procedures for both ocean freight and road freight preferred.
- Good knowledge of relevant software and ERP systems (Office, Macro, Syspro etc).
