Job Summary Our client, a upmarket Private Game Reserve, is looking for a well experienced Field Guide to join their team on their reserve located inland from Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth). The post is a live in position, it excludes meals, you will have your own accommodation with a shared Kitchen and Laundry. The minimum requirements are as follows: 1. FGASA qualification Level 2 or NQF4 Field guide qualification. 2. Full / Lead Trails guide or related specialist field guide qualification. 3. At least 4-5 years' experience dealing with big five game and five-star clientele. The key performance areas of this position include: 1. Conduct an advanced game drive experience (2 x 3 hours daily) 2. Conduct walking safaris (if qualified to do so) 3. Host guests at certain meals and other relevant times. 4. Responsible for the maintenance and up keep of vehicles and equipment/assets. 5. Carry out stand by duties and other activities undertaken by guests. 6. Perform duties as required by the field guide department. 7. Work independently and unsupervised for majority of time. Competencies required: 1. Code B of EB driver's license and valid PDP. 2. SAPS firearms competency for a rifle. 3. Valid first aid certificate. 4. DEAT registered. 5. 4x4 Driving experience preferable. 6. Trails guide and Advanced Rifle handling qualification. 7. People orientated personality. 8. Good general knowledge of current affairs both locally and internationally.
