- Responsible for the design, project management, contract administration withing the roads department.
- Performing roads and highways design from inception to final design in accordance with design standards using roadway design software (specific knowledge in geometrics design will be an added advantage).
- Providing input and technical guidance to CAD designers / draughters and lower-level engineers / technologists / technicians.
- Design software knowledge
- Excellent understanding of engineering concepts and application of knowledge,
- Good understanding of industry codes and standards,
- To perform all work in accordance with the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS), Policies and Standards.
- Checking and verifying designs done by design team members.
- Managing and directing design teams where required.
- Act as design team leader on identified project components.
- Liaising with clients where required.
- Developing an understanding of industry codes and standards and client specifications and client expectations.
- Developing an understanding of relevant legislation and regulations.
- BTech/BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering
- PrEng / PrTechEng
- MS Office Applications, MS Project
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil Designer, Civil 3D
- Good understanding of (GCC, FIDIC, NEC, JBCC),
- 5+ years’ experience required in roads and stormwater.
- Must be familiar with road design standards and procedures
- Excellent planning, organising and analytical skills
