- The mission of the External Account Manager will be to build and maintain long-term relationships, drive revenue growth, and contribute to the overall success of the Company.
- The External Account Manager position is pivotal in driving revenue and business growth within the Commercial Infrastructure Sales department.
- Achieving growth by nurturing and building the customer base, developing strong relationships with customers, and ensuring their needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
- This position will focus primarily on products within the business infrastructure and Life and Security division within the Gauteng region.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, understanding their needs, challenges, and opportunities to provide required, relevant solutions.
- Maintain the existing customer base, growing current customer accounts by identifying sales opportunities to maximize revenue.
- Continuously build an active customer base, identifying sales opportunities and growing business revenue to achieve a sales budget Identify and pursue new business opportunities with prospective customers.
- Ensure the development of profitable sales and the achievement of sales targets in the Gauteng region.
- Build, grow, and establish a new customer base through networking opportunities.
- Identify, understand, and build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Identify sales opportunities to market both products and the organisation.
- Deliver product presentations and entertain clients.
- Implement the agreed Pinnacle Sales Strategy.
- Maximize sales by expanding orders and upselling.
- Negotiate prices to achieve sales targets.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers.
- Implement strategies to ensure high customer retention rates and customer satisfaction.
- Act as liaison between customers and Company departments to communicate and co-ordinate deliveries, general information, ETAs, and provide feedback.
- Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing inquiries, resolving issues, addressing complaints, and ensuring SLAs are met.
- Meet and exceed the agreed SLAs on quoting and deliveries.
- Maintain the current client database and forecasts.
- Generate sales leads and constant follow-up on customer deals.
- Following up on quotations, converting these into orders.
- Process and ensure correct administration of relevant sales documentation.
- Updating stock reports, backorders, and orders received daily.
- Attend to daily sales calls.
- Prepare and present management with weekly sales and activity reports, including pipeline, run rates, and daily quotation reports.
- Work closely with internal departments including Brand and Logistics to ensure seamless execution of customer requirements.
- Follow up on orders with other departments to meet SLAs .
- Liaise with stores/dispatch regarding deliveries of all orders and supply of invoices.
- Acquire and update knowledge by attending relevant product, brand, and operational training.
- Attend product training and events.
- Working committedly within agreed-upon Company-targeted budget revenue, marketing, and expense parameters.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience working with Infrastructure products.
- A minimum of three (3) years of External Account Management and sales experience.
- Distribution experience is advantageous.
- Working experience in a customer service environment.
- Experience preparing and presenting quotations.
- Experience in developing sales plans and closing deals.
- Knowledge of Enterprise products essential.
- An understanding of the Life Safety and Security Industry will be an advantage.
- Matric is preferable.
- A tertiary qualification in Sales, Business Management or IT will be an advantage.
- Proven sales skills/ability.
- Proven ability to close deals.
- Excellent verbal and written business communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Developed negotiation skills.
- Good time management and well organized i.e., deadline driven, able to plan and prioritize a high workload.
