TITLE: 4-H Youth Development AgDiscovery Camp Program AssistantDEPARTMENT: Cooperative ExtensionREPORTS TO: 4-H Program LeaderEFFECTIVE DATE: June 1 - 22, 2024EMPLOYMENT STATUS: SeasonalEMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: ExemptPRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB: The Camp Program Assistant works directly with the Program Director for 4-H Youth Development to provide administrative support, coordination, and implementation of the summer youth programs throughout the duration of the programs.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist with implementation of all aspects of program activities.
  • Contribute to development of program activities.
  • Communicate program information with collaborators, dorm supervisors, recreation counselors, mentors/couselors, participants and parents
  • Prepare reports as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform other duties when required.QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma
  • Basic experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Licensing and Certifications: None.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports
  • Ability to perform complex tasks and to prioritize multiple projects
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials
  • Program planning and implementation skills
  • Current driver’s license
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to work days, evenings and weekends for the duration of assigned program(s)
  • Must be able to climb several floors of stairs rapidly
  • Travel required within the program parameters
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs
