TITLE: 4-H Youth Development AgDiscovery Camp Program AssistantDEPARTMENT: Cooperative ExtensionREPORTS TO: 4-H Program LeaderEFFECTIVE DATE: June 1 - 22, 2024EMPLOYMENT STATUS: SeasonalEMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: ExemptPRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB: The Camp Program Assistant works directly with the Program Director for 4-H Youth Development to provide administrative support, coordination, and implementation of the summer youth programs throughout the duration of the programs.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assist with implementation of all aspects of program activities.
Contribute to development of program activities.
Communicate program information with collaborators, dorm supervisors, recreation counselors, mentors/couselors, participants and parents
Prepare reports as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform other duties when required.QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma
Basic experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Licensing and Certifications: None.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
Strong organizational skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports
Ability to perform complex tasks and to prioritize multiple projects
Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials
Program planning and implementation skills
Current driver’s license
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to work days, evenings and weekends for the duration of assigned program(s)
Must be able to climb several floors of stairs rapidly
Travel required within the program parameters
Ability to lift 20 lbs
