- Conduct safety awareness training and communications annually and during new hire onboarding
- Conduct authorized safety training as required
- Participate in incident investigations and identification of corrective actions
- Provide training for supervision in incident investigation and root cause analysis
- Provide training on behavior based safety, track and communicate collected data
- Drive participation by plant employees
- Conduct risk assessments
- Facilitate corrective actions for at-risk tasks
- Update/upgrade training programs
- Provide communications with all job classifications on safety awareness in the form of daily huddle topics, postings, etc.
- Conduct ergonomic assessments for operations
- Review and maintain safety programs and documentation for compliance with corporate policies/procedures
- Provide technical assistance for all safety related plant programs
- Participate in new project installation prestart up safety reviews
- Identify nonroutine tasks and assist in planning and implementing risk reduction efforts
- Provide assistance with environmental activities – stormwater pollution prevention and spill prevention, containment & countermeasures, recycling, etc.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed
- High school diploma/equivalent
- Safety-related degree or certification (OSHA, NSC, ASSE) is a plus
- Some experience in an industrial setting is preferred
- Prior experience in training/public speaking preferred
- Familiar with OSHA and federal and state regulations pertaining to safety, health and environmental issues
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office
