- Manage primarily the environment and as well supporting health and safety while assuring sustainability of Graymont’s internal HSE standards.
- Lead or support environmental permitting efforts needed to advance new and existing projects critical to operations.
- Provide training and/or support for compliance and internal standard requirements, as needed.
- Support and/or facilitate HSE incident investigations using root cause analysis methodologies to prevent reoccurrence.
- Participate in company internal health, safety and environmental audits.
- Support and influence site HSE representatives and HSE committees to foster HSE growth and alignment.
- Provide oversight and coordinate WNA compliance support activities, including reporting to ensure all reports are completed accurately and on time to state, provincial, and/or federal regulatory agencies.
- Ensure alignment within the plants to promote growth of the site level HSE personnel, staff and front-line employees while promoting the OneGraymont culture.
- Facilitate alignment between corporate objectives and workforce engagements to ensure regulatory compliance and foster continual improvement of Graymont’s Safety and Environmental standards.
- Coach, facilitate and/or support further advancement of the plant behavioral safety culture.
- Collaborate effectively with operations and other support functions in North America on continuous improvement projects to build and maintain a world-class HSE function.
- Support and advance activities aligned with Graymont’s efforts to decarbonize its processes.
- Science/Engineering related bachelor’s degree required, with a degree in Health, Safety or Environmental emphasis preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing environmental, health and safety requirements for an industrial operation.
- Experience liaising with regulatory agencies.
- Project management experience and qualifications preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to influence others in decision making.
- Ability to work and solve problems independently.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize and organize.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with limited direction and to function as a team member.
- Proficient in basic computer software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Relational Databases).
- Travel required to Graymont sites as needed.
