The Senior Accountant has primary responsibility for multiple complex accounting tasks and/or special initiatives of the University, as well as support for the implementation of the new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution. This includes, but is not limited to, account reconciliations, audit workpaper preparation, financial statement preparation, budget preparation, and financial analysis. Prepares various financial analyses for the Controller and Assistant Controller, including analyses related to various vendor agreements, capital projects or other projects as needed. Assist with all other projects as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to effectively supervise assigned support staff, if assigned.
  • Strong financial skills; great attention to detail and demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize work assignments, manage multiple projects. simultaneously, and meet established deadlines while working independently.
Required Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field
  • Six years of directly related experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Four or more years' directly related experience in an educational institution or health care setting
