Logan Regional Medical Center is a 132-bed acute care facility in Logan, West Virginia. The hospital offers a full range of health care services in a recently expanded facility. A renovated $1.1 million Physical Rehabilitation Unit opened in 2003. A $20 million Emergency Department and Facility Renovation, completed in 2005, added approximately 42,000 square feet to the facility and renovated approximately 8,000 square feet within the existing hospital. The Emergency Department includes 22 rooms, a portable X-ray unit, a CAT scan, a portable ultrasound, X-ray rooms and three trauma rooms. The second floor includes the Women's Center, with three labor and delivery suites, a staging area and a nine-bed nursery with the latest in safety and LDR security features. PACS Technology, which allows physicians in the Emergency Department to make consultations 24 hours a day with radiologists at other facilities across the country, has also been installed.   • Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals as well as other medications to patients for patient imaging and therapeutic procedures.
  • Performs Nuclear Medicine diagnostic studies per Physician orders.
  • Processes data and enhances digital images using advanced computer technology.
  • Provides images, data analysis and patient information for diagnostic interpretation or therapeutic procedures.
  • Evaluates images to determine the technical quality and calibration of instrumentation.
  • Processes the images for radiologist review.
  • Strives to Improve and Deliver High Quality Patient Care.

QualificationsMinimum Education:
  • Graduate of a Program in Nuclear Medicine Technology required.
Required Skills:
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment at times and take appropriate action.
  • Satisfactory completion of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved Nuclear Medicine training program and/or ability to meet the requirements of Registry by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered in Nuclear Medicine.
Certifications:
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) and/or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with Nuclear Medicine Registration preferred. CNMT or ARRT eligible at minimum.
  • West Virginia State License for Radiologic Technology.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
