- Coordinate within the mechanical group and other disciplines/functions independently in developing system designs and equipment identification in a team environment.
- Resolve technical issues related to the discipline independently including any required interface with other disciplines, functions, vendors, and/or client.
- Execute schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work products.
- Support development of project cost and schedule estimates.
- Level 1 - BS degree in Mechanical (or related) Engineering from an accredited university or college with nine (9) years of progressive related experience, or in lieu of degree, fifteen (15) years of progressive related experience.
- Level 2 - BS degree in Mechanical (or related) Engineering from an accredited university or college with thirteen (13) years of progressive related experience, or in lieu of degree, nineteen (19) years of progressive related experience.
- Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Related experience includes, but is not limited to, experience in Piping and Instrument Diagram (P&ID) development, fluid system design, hydraulic, heat transfer, and thermodynamic calculations, and equipment specification and design development for waste processing, nuclear, refinery, power, or chemical process facilities.
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.
- Hands-on Microsoft office programs and other computer programs.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering work processes, procedures, and specifications.
- Excellent oral and written communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Engineering in Training certification in the US, or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
- Knowledge of Bechtel Corporate guides and standards.
- Prior experience working in an execution center environment and demonstrated flexibility in work assignments.
- MS degree in Mechanical (or related) Engineering from an accredited university or college.
- Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000.
- Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience.
- Registered Professional Engineer in the USA (Mechanical or related).
- Possess an active security clearance or have the ability to obtain one upon hire.
