Description :The Outside Sales Representative-PSD Prime Sales is responsible for promoting products and services to existing customer base while expanding on that base to obtain territorial as well corporate goals. Develops assigned territory, implements territorial sales plans to grow business and maintain current customer base. Influences and grow sales with new business opportunities within assigned market area/territory. Continually collaborates with EP Sales Manager to achieve strategic goals and address targeted market growth opportunities.Essential Functions:Responsible for the sales and marketing of Power Generation equipment for assigned markets and accountsProvides service and support of existing customer baseSourcing new business opportunitiesPrepares and presents sales agreements and presentationsCompletes and submits sales reports and documentation to maintain the established business systems/ processes and business goalsFacilitates effective, timely and complete communications between internal team members, Engineers and other parties regarding equipment designs, specifications, and all technical aspects of current and future projectsManages customer and internal relationships in a manner that promotes the goals of the business unitPrepares territory and call plans, sales reports, expense, and sales activity reportsDevelops new accounts and maintains accounts currently assignedFormulates bids on new and existing jobs and projectsIdentifies and acquires new market opportunitiesReceives customer orders and serves as the customer contact pointCollaborates with other departments to generate sales leads and sell the storeOccasionally assists in familiarizing customer on equipmentAids in implementing, sustaining, and developing quality improvement processes that focus on safety, financials, operations, and customer serviceMaintains records of sales or other business transactionsPrepare sales or other contractsContinually develops self in ways that brings value to the customer and enterpriseWorks safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standardsPerforms other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Industry knowledge of basic engineering electrical principles to include powerDemonstrated knowledge of selling techniques (prospecting, overcoming objections, closing sales)Excellent selling, negotiating, and closing skills with ability to build long term business relationshipsKnowledge of Microsoft Office skills to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint and applicable Caterpillar software and other applicationsUnderstands the implications of new information for both current and future problem- solving and decision-makingUses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problemsExcellent oral and written communication skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organizationFirst-class organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills, deadline orientedUnderstands written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents, and communicates effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audienceAbility to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accuratelyAbility to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timelinessAbility to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulationsThe ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentencesEducation and Experience:Minimum of three to five years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is requiredBA or BS Degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience requiredValid driver’s licenseSupervisory Responsibilities:NoneTravel:Extensive driving is required; occasional overnight travel requiredPhysical Requirements:This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets,This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinetsThis position involves certain periods of time in a stationary position, standing, walking and occasional kneeling, crouching, stooping, balancing, and reaching associated with the movement, set up and tear down of rental equipmentMust be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support without fatigueOccasionally moves materials or equipment weighing up to 40Work Environment:This job is generally performed in a professional office environmentOccasionally works outdoors and may be exposed to extreme weather conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold and humidityFrequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptionsDisclaimer:Please note that the above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
