Job DescriptionThe Occupational Therapy Department at Tennessee State University invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy. We seek applicants who have practice experience in pediatric occupational therapy, including but not limited to: outpatient pediatrics, early intervention, school system practice, and/or inpatient pediatric rehabilitation. In addition, successful applicants will be competent in a secondary role of teaching/supervising research-related content (e.g., supervising student research projects). Less frequent job responsibilities will include: student advising; curriculum review and development; program evaluation; participation in service and research activities.This opening offers the incumbent an opportunity to join the at one of 7 OT programs housed in an Historically Black College/University (HBCU), and located along the Cumberland River just 10 minutes from the heart of downtown Nashville, TN. The OT Department is housed in the , which offers numerous opportunities for interprofessional collaboration and is housed in a state-of-the-art facility.Minimum Qualifications * Post-professional doctoral degree in occupational therapy or a combination of the following: bachelor's or master's degree in occupational therapy AND a doctorate in related field.
  • Currently licensed or eligible for TN occupational therapy license
  • Evidence of initial NBCOT certification. Current NBCOT certification is not required.
  • Teaching experience at the university level
  • At least 3 years of occupational therapy practice experience
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion as well as student success.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an occupational therapy practitioner
