- Assembles material on the ground to be installed by the lineperson or apprentice.
- Flag traffic and may be required to have training.
- Excavates to assist in the installation of structures or cables as required by contract specification.
- Operates various tools for the work (various manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-along, jackhammers and hand line, etc.).
- Clears work area around structures.
- Will have contact with public and private property owners to communicate the work to be performed.
- Will perform other duties as assigned by the Foreperson relating to utility line work.
- Complete work or emergency assignments on an overtime basis. (This might extend to holidays, and weekends, subject to call-out work).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to operate basic hand tools and equipment.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent preferred.
- Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
- A valid Driver's License is required.
- Travel is required from time to time to perform work throughout the Region.
- RARE (less than 10%): climbing poles
