As a Code Data Assistant Manager, this position is responsible for production and engineering support across B&W as it pertaines to maintaining all documentation related to American Society of Mechanical Engineer's (ASME) code for Watertube Boilers and unfired pressure vessels. As a critical component within the organization, this individual creates registries for ASME “S” and National Boiler Inspection Code (NBIC) “R” stamp projects, which indicates to customers that B&W’s parts comply with code requirements. This person will collaborate with various arms of the business as well as outside vendors and insurance carriers to uphold codes.
  • Develop and maintain ASME Code documentation for Watertube Boilers and unfired pressure vessels
  • Develop and maintain NBIC R-2 Reports for alterations on existing boilers
  • Create and Maintain B&W’s National Board registries for both ASME ‘S’ and NBIC ‘R’ stamp projects.
  • Research, Translate, and uphold ASME/NBIC codes and code interpretations.
  • Participate in ASME / NBIC Joint Review certifications on a bi-yearly basis
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Project Management, Technical Design, Engineering, Manufacturing and outside vendors on ASME/NBIC code related affairs.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • 5 years of related experience with ASME pressure parts both Section I and Section VIII is preferred
  • 5 years of related work experience in either production, construction or engineering environment
  • Strong Computer skills essential
  • Ability to multi-task on project assignments and prioritize work to complete within project deadlines.
  • Experience with PLM or other product lifetime management software
  • Ability to read and interpret ASME Pressure Vessel Code
  • Ability to read and interpret NBIC
  • Strong written and verbal Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Technical report writing skills
  • Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Understanding of boiler circulation and recognize typical section I boiler components
