- Know and demonstrates 6 step customer complaint management process.
- Collects, analyzes and integrates patient information in order to identify and meet patient specific needs (Physical/mental limitations, current emotional/physiological status regarding the testing procedures, pertinent medical/social history), and to determine final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols.
- Completes and verifies documentation.
- Explains pre-testing, testing, and post testing procedures to the patient.
- Determine proper functioning and make adjustments, if necessary, to equipment.
- Applies electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards.
- Performs appropriate physiologic calibrations to ensure proper signals and make adjustments if necessary. Performs positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fitting.
- Follows procedural protocols such as MSLT, MWT, Parasomnia studies, positive Airway pressure, oxygen titration.
- Performs data acquisition while monitoring.
- Documents Routine observations including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedure and significant events in order to facilitate scoring.
- Scores sleep/wake stages according to guidelines.
- Scores clinical events according to protocols.
- Generates accurate reports for physician review.
- Facilitates communication to pulmonologists for interpretation.
- Maintains supply orders as needed.
- High School Diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D) required
- 3 to 6 months experience in sleep testing is preferred.
- Registered Polysomnographic Tech (RPSGT) certification through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) required at the time of hire or within 12 months of hire if currently a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Registered EEG Technician (R.EEGT).

- Registered Polysomnographic Tech (RPSGT) certification through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) required at the time of hire or within 6 months of hire if a graduate from an accredited Sleep Technologist program.
- Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.
- Iowa Polysomnographic Technologist (PSGT) license required at the time of hire or within 12 months of hire if currently an Iowa licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP.IA) or Registered EEG Technician (R.EEGT).

- Iowa Polysomnographic Technologist (PSGT) license required at the time of hire or within 6 months of hire if a graduate from an accredited Sleep Technologist program.
- Good understanding of all aspects of sleep diagnostic testing.
- Ability to perform Multiple Sleep Latency Testing (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Testing (MWT), and scoring polysomnograms.
