We are now looking for a Senior Financial Controller to join our global Finance team in Wilhelmsen Global Business Services division (GBS). GBS consists of HR, Finance and IT and delivers these services to the majority of all companies within the Group.As a Senior Financial Controller, you will work closely with the Finance directors in Wilhelmsen's companies worldwide. You will have a central role in the work with quality assurance, streamlining and improving processes within the accounting and reporting area across all 60 countries in the Group.We can offer a culture and work environment of strong leadership, career development, work-life balance and a job that is both challenging and stimulating. The position will be located at Lysaker, Norway and reports to the Finance and Accounting Director, GBS.What you will work on:
Collaborating closely with internal customers to initiate, support, and guide new processes and process improvements within the accounting and reporting area.
Take part in company-wide projects and implement correct and efficient financial processes for innovations and new business models.
Maintaining, developing, and implementing finance policies, processes, and routines.
Participating as well as playing an active part in scheduled financial closing processes both during yearly and monthly end. Supporting our customers with analysis, control of figures and advising on accounting treatment.
Supporting reporting to the relevant authorities and guiding the business on external audit requirements.
Ensuring GBS finance and GBS customers' compliance with accounting standards and IFRS requirements.
Contributing to ensuring GBS Finance has a solid internal controls environment.
Support internal control audits and training.
What we believe you need to success in the role:
Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Auditing or similar
Minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience as Auditor or Financial Controller
What we are looking for:Previous experience as a Financial Controller and/or as an auditor and have the needed communication skills to present complex issues in a clear way. You thrive working with processes and process improvements and have a passion for accounting. You enjoy diving into figures and have the drive to understand the business behind the numbers. You thrive in an international and hectic environment and like to collaborate with people across the organization.
Process understanding and experience in working with processes and process improvements
Experience and knowledge of IFRS and general accounting principles.
Strong communication skills and fluent in English
Solution oriented, structured, and accurate
Ability to work independently and in teams
Customer focused
Able to meet deadlines through good time management and prioritization
