Implement the curriculum as aligned to New Jersey Student Learning Standards in Science;Prepare and implement lessons that provide meaningful learning experiences for students;Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse student learners;Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff;Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required;Attend professional development sessions in order to further advance professional practice;Prove a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus.Utilize bilingual language development theory and apply it to daily instruction.Utilize WIDA English Language Development standards in daily instruction.Implement effective and innovative instructional strategies.Differentiate academic and linguistic instruction for students at varying levels of attainment.Create a stimulating, and aesthetically welcoming, organized, functional, healthy, and safe classroom.Perform non-instructional duties with timeliness and accuracyContinue to grow professionally through collaboration with colleagues and professional growth experiences.Maintain a reflective teaching practice.Qualifications:New Jersey Certification in K-6 with 5-8 Content Specialization in Science, or New Jersey Certification in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Physical ScienceCE, CEAS, or Standard Teacher of Bilingual/Bicultural Education - Spanish.Excellent written and oral communication skills, flexibility, and ability to collaborate with colleagues both inside and outside of the Science Department.Knowledge of OpenSciEd is highly desired.Working Conditions: Hackensack Middle SchoolSalary: As per HBOE/HEA AgreementApplication Procedure: Apply online via Frontline/AppliTrackSelection Procedure: Applications will be reviewed and a recommendation made to the Superintendent of Schools for Board approval.
