What You'll Be DoingThis position is eligible for a Tiered Sign-On Bonus up to $5,000!This position is 90% remote. This position may be required to be available on site in downtown Raleigh at various times, therefore, the consultant must reside within close proximity to Raleigh (within 3 hours). If you would thrive in an environment like this, check out the “fine print” below to see the formal job duties.The Lead Senior ER Consultant provides expert level consultation and guidance on disciplinary actions, grievances, performance management, conflict resolution, ADA, unemployment, County policies, and state and federal employment laws. This superhero will serve as the escalation point for routine employee relations concerns, review actions and provide feedback and guidance to ER team members. The Lead also serves as the back up to the Employee Relations Manager.The Lead Senior ER Consultant's day includes:
  • Proactively identifying and analyzing associated risks involved in specific employment situations and provides collaborative recommendations, identifying risk/reward strategies
  • Conducting Title VII related investigations
  • Analyzing ER data and performing compliance risk assessments; and identifying/recommending new and creative solutions

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field
  • Four years of experience in human resources administration
  • Equivalent education and experience will be considered
Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
  • Five or more years of professional experience in a senior or lead employee relations position
  • Relevant professional training and/or certifications such as PHR or SPHR, IPMA-CP or IPMA-SCP, mediation
  • Professional experience working for local or state government
