Overview: As a Sales Development Representative with a focus on telemarketing, you will play a pivotal role in generating qualified leads, conducting outbound calls, and setting up appointments for the sales team. In addition to telemarketing skills, this role encompasses list generation and list scrubbing to ensure optimal targeting and efficiency in lead generation efforts. Your proactive approach, strong communication skills, and attention to detail will be essential in identifying and qualifying potential prospects.Key Responsibilities: * List Generation: Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to identify target demographics and industries. Utilize various sources such as CRM databases, industry directories, and online research to generate lists of potential leads.
  • List Scrubbing: Review and refine generated lists to ensure accuracy and relevance. Remove duplicates, outdated contacts, and irrelevant leads to maintain a clean and effective database.
  • Outbound Calling: Conduct high-volume outbound calls to prospects identified through list generation efforts, both warm and cold prospects. Tailor messaging to specific segments and personalize outreach to increase engagement and response rates. Cold calling will be necessary.
  • Lead Qualification: Engage prospects in meaningful conversations to determine their needs, challenges, and potential fit for the company's products or services. Utilize effective questioning techniques to gather relevant information and qualify leads based on predefined criteria.
  • Product/Service Pitch: Articulate the value proposition of the company's offerings to prospects, highlighting key features and benefits that address their needs and pain points. Customize messaging based on prospect insights and industry trends.
  • Appointment Setting: Schedule qualified appointments and product demos for the sales team, ensuring that appointments meet predefined qualification criteria and align with sales objectives.
  • Follow-Up: Maintain ongoing communication with prospects to nurture relationships and progress leads through the sales funnel. Utilize follow-up strategies such as email, social media, and additional calls to stay engaged with prospects and move them closer to conversion.
  • Database Management: Update and maintain accurate records of prospect interactions, including notes, contact information, and lead status, within the CRM system. Regularly review and update lead data to ensure data integrity and completeness.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, sales, and other relevant teams to share insights, provide feedback on lead quality, and optimize lead generation strategies.
  • Performance Tracking: Meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) related to call volume, lead qualification, appointment setting, and conversion rates. Utilize performance data to identify areas for improvement and refine telemarketing strategies.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage prospects and build rapport over the phone.
  • Strong personal determination to meet quotas and produce results.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for effective list generation and list scrubbing.
  • Persistence and resilience in overcoming objections and rejections during outbound calling.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and sales automation tools for database management and lead tracking.
  • Previous experience in sales development, telemarketing, or lead generation roles preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role conducting Cold Calls.
Working Conditions:
  • Work Environment: Office-based - Columbia, MD
  • Hours: 8 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Performance Metrics: Evaluated based on key performance indicators such as call volume, lead qualification rate, appointment setting rate, and overall sales pipeline contribution.
