- Participate in project teams and independently on a global platform in varying settings that demand new and creative solutions.
- Manage and provide technical expertise on capital projects for a variety of clients with complex technical/regulatory issues in the power, technology, manufacturing and other sectors.
- Interact with scientists in the site investigation, risk management, and planning disciplines as integrated teams as well as engineers in design and construction.
- Assume lead roles in a “center-of-excellence” engineering team to formulate creative designs and oversee implementation.
- Conduct field investigations, construction oversight and quality assurance activities and provide field exploration support as needed for design parameter development, and during construction for oversight and Construction Quality Assurance purposes.
- Evaluate field data; perform calculations; prepare engineering reports, cost estimates, and comprehensive schedules; and develop progress-tracking reports.
- Assist clients in developing strategies and preparing designs for proposed facilities, and prepare project work scopes, schedules and budgets.
- Work with other ERM resources to deepen relationships with ERM key clients and establish new client relationships that result in significant net revenue growth.
- Prepare technical proposals and participate in business development with existing clients and identified leads.
- Lead, manage performance, hire and retain, inspire and mentor personnel for overall success of the technical team.
- Appropriately delegate project assignments to project teams and mentor junior staff.
- B.S. / M.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering preferred, with a focus on designs involving site-civil, environmental, geotechnical and structural applications.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license in-place or eligible.
- 5+ years consulting experience working with power or industrial clients on complex projects under a variety of state, federal, and international regulatory structures (e.g., CERCLA and RCRA).
- Experience with Microsoft Project resourcing and scheduling, AutoCAD/Civil3D-based design, GIS and construction management skill sets.
- Strong computer skills and proficient with productivity software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated ability to research and prepare concise and accurate technical documents, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent writing, communication, strategic thinking, and “people” skills.
- Proven business development experience for large programs/contracts and client relationships supported by repeat business, including established contacts.
- Advanced knowledge of the local regulatory climate, with proven negotiation skills with state and local regulators.
- Recognized technical expertise by and established reputation in the local marketplace.
- Well-developed teambuilding and influencing skills; unquestioned integrity; and the experience, confidence, and stature to effectively address client and business needs and challenges.

- Ability and willingness to travel.
