Job Description:As a Product Manager with VAS, you will be responsible for driving the adoption and expansion of VAS' products, in the United States and international markets. This role is crucial in helping farmers globally improve dairy production efficiency and in connecting stakeholders across the dairy industry.This strategic position requires a high degree of specialization in the software development life cycle, particularly in cloud-based software, as well as a focus on dairy herd production and management. In this role, the candidate must possess the ability to effectively collaborate with and manage diverse teams across various domains, including engineering, product, strategy, sales, support, marketing, and finance, with the primary objective to provide farmers with best-in-class actionable insights. This role requires a unique skill set, as it involves engagement with all aspects of the business.RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the voice of customer to spearhead the development of dairy data insights within cloud-based herd management software that meet the requirements of our company and our customers
  • Manage the software development life cycle, from ideation to launch, and track performance metrics to identify areas of improvement
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure relevance of analytical tools and insights to all aspects of dairy management
  • Work closely with potential partners including dairy processors, nutrition companies, pharmaceutical firms, veterinarian groups, and cooperatives.
  • Monitor and analyze competitive activity, customer, and market trends in order to develop competitive and profitable product offerings
  • Design feature requirements and product specifications, and ensure that all products meet customer requirements and industry standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing, sales, and engineering to ensure successful product development and launch
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years previous PM experience-product release from inception to roll-out
  • Ability to travel approximately 30%
  • Previously or currently served/serving as a Product Owner or Product Manager within a SaaS-based company, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the software development life cycle for software products
  • History of successfully collaborating cross-functionally within multiple departments to achieve product success
  • Has owned the P&L for a product and has experience building products that deliver value and contribute positively to the P&L
  • Experienced in empathizing with customers to ensure that products and features built address real issues and concerns that customers care about.
