- Provides technical support to the Quality and Quality Engineering (QE) functions.
- Conducts nondestructive examination (NDE) and quality control (QC) inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc., at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards.
- Captures and analyzes statistical data from processes to either confirm compliance with established standards or identify deviations from standards.
- Recommends new or enhanced methods, procedures and standards.
- Record results of inspections as required. Daily work is determined by structure and needs of the Quality group.
- May include, in process or final inspections of products, physical properties inspections and chemical analysis.
- Will include customer certification inspections of orders as required using any inspection equipment needed including but not limited to Hard Gages, Microscopy, Glow Discharge Spectrometer (GDS), Rotap, Carbon Sulfur Analyzer, Oxygen Nitrogen Analyzer, and Particle Size Distribution Analyzers.
- Required to learn and understand all equipment needed to inspect physical, dimensional, and chemical properties.
- Expected to work on priority order first and scan correct production information as needed.
- Performs specialized technical tasks required to support operations and quality functions (e.g., IT development, research support, skilled trade)
- Works with a limited degree of supervision
- Associates Degree. Requires vocational training or the equivalent experience and may require external certification. Secondary education degree preferred.
- Is able to properly use and be proficient in the use of all gages, devices, and analytical instrumentation that determine compliance to product specifications.
- 3-5 years of experience preferred or must demonstrate ability to learn.
- Must be able to use required computer software including but not limited to SAP and Microsoft Office.
- Is able to read and understand specifications, routings and operating procedures.
- Can properly interpret inspection defect criteria.
- Follows procedures/work instructions for conducting customer certifications, inspections of physical properties and analytical analysis.
- Can retrieve and read production routers. Record data as required and can determine if the product and packaging matches the router requirements.
