- Operates computer control systems, switchboard and manually operated controls to operate equipment such as impulse or reaction turbines, electric generators, power circuit breakers and transformers, pumps, cooling and lubrication systems, and flow line gates and valves.
- Receives, verifies and performs step-by-step operating procedures.
- Issues, transfers and releases work authorizations to include approvals, permissions and clearances.
- Checks computer screen displays, takes instrumentation readings and conducts inspections of equipment and facilities.
- Determines nature and cause of abnormalities and initiates corrective action.
- Maintains manual or terminal entry station logs and operating and various other reports and records. Maintains recording instrument readings. Services, cleans, and lubricates equipment.
- Operates telecommunication equipment.
- Performs housekeeping and material handling.
- Operates motor vehicles.
- Operates switching up to 230kv on Transmission & Distribution equipment.
- Writes switching programs.
- Performs periodic, preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance such as disassembling, repairing, and assembling of plant equipment; replacing, adjusting packing; lubricates equipment; assist others such as mechanics, and technicians; troubleshoot malfunctions.
- Diagnose, report, and record equipment problems.
- Write maintenance orders.
- Operate equipment such as snow vehicles, station cranes, and hoists.
- Must be able to travel for training.
- Valid CA Driver's License.
- Able to perform heavy manual labor, climb ladders, and platforms as necessary.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours and be on call if necessary.
- Knowledge working in the electrical field with A/C and D/C theory.
- Ability to drive in winter conditions and inclement weather.
- Ability to recognize abnormal conditions; service recording instruments and battery; record readings and observation in station log.
- The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are of a level comparable with those normally acquired through a high school education and some general working experience.
- This position's work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

- Position will require up to 50% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
- This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
- Must be able to work a set work schedule of 7\:00AM - 5\:00PM (4/10 work schedule).
- Relocation does not apply to this position.
