- Provide leadership, strategic vision and direction to Jhpiego Pakistan Immunization Program
- Strengthen Jhpiego position as one of the leading organizations for immunization work in the country
- Ensure that Jhpiego Pakistan is capable of delivering its country strategy aligned with global and national priorities and commitments.
- Lead proposal development process, ensuring technical advisors/managers inputs, engaging partners in project design and proactively and regularly communicate planned requirements for program design and implementation to the relevant departments/functions
- Coordinate closely with donors, US and Hub teams in identifying funding opportunities, understanding priorities, and developing high quality program proposals
- Provide leadership in optimal partnering decisions for collaboration on different programs
- Participate in conceptualizing and designing cost effective, innovative and high quality programs to serve difficult to reach population groups
- Lead immunization programs quality improvements by monitoring and improving performance against indicators
- Network and develop strategic partnerships with national and subnational UN agencies, and development partners and government institutions and with in Jhpiego’s global and Hub technical leadership in evidence generation.
- Promote a culture of learning where evidence generated through programing and research initiatives are used for program and strategy development, support ongoing projects and programs, and play a central role in developing written reports and publications for advocacy.
- Proactively maintain and strengthen working relationships with Federal Directorate of Immunization, national and provincial government authorities, development, humanitarian and corporate donors and partner agencies (e.g., USAID, Gates Foundation and GAVI, etc.), the UN system, and local and international NGOs as relevant to immunization programs
- Conduct the portfolio and relevant projects risk assessment at strategic and implementation level and develop and periodically track risk management plan
- Ensure that key advocacy messages around immunization are developed and disseminated in external forums
- Technically support Immunization Project leads to implement high quality programs in field and maintain strong institutional relationships with relevant government officials and stakeholders
- Proactively manage both immunization program and financial deliverables and n financial or program aspects of different grants from the donors and guide the team in their resolution within Jhpiego and with external partners.
- Masters in Public Health and relevant discipline; preferably a medical doctor
- At least 8-10 years of experience in a health sector management position at national and/or provincial level, immunization preferred
- Up-to-date knowledge of new vaccines on the horizon and prior experience implementing immunization programs
- At least 3-5 years of direct implementation of immunization projects
- Monitoring and evaluation in health programs is preferable
- Demonstrated management, planning, supervisory, and leadership skills.
- Ability to think critically, strategically, and operationally.
- Strong policy and advocacy skills
- Excellent English writing and communication skills in immunization and MNCH issues and strategies and needs in terms of policy change and research
- Experience working with key organizations working in immunization and MNCH (e.g., UN agencies donors and academic institutions).
- Proficiency in MS office especially in MS Word, Excel and Power Point
