Job SummarySHI is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in the Advanced Solutions Group. In this role, you will have the exciting opportunity to leverage cutting-edge generative AI platforms to drive productivity and foster innovation.As the Software Engineer - AI, your main responsibilities will revolve around the analysis, design, and development of solutions utilizing the Azure OpenAI Large Language Model. Collaborating closely with customers and internal stakeholders, you will gain a deep understanding of their business needs and provide them with tailored solutions and expert guidance.Your primary technology stack will involve Python and SQL applications deployed on Azure infrastructure. Additionally, you will work with Databricks workspaces and interface with the Microsoft and OpenAI Generative AI Large Language Model. ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Design, develop, and implement generative AI and data solutions in Python, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver satisfactory generative AI solutions.
  • Work cross-functionally to successfully deliver end-to-end AI projects.
  • Contribute to technical and architectural decision-making for scalable, maintainable, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Communicate complex AI concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Monitor and optimize performance of generative AI models.
  • Mentor team members in adopting generative AI technologies and best practices.
  • Participate in optimizing end-to-end data architecture.
  • Set a high standard of technical excellence and consistently deliver high-quality solutions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of Python software development experience. This experience should be during the last 5 years and used as a primary job function.
  • 3+ years of experience at APIs and Data processing with Python
  • 1+ years of experience with JSON, NoSQL and/or Vector data and related data stores
Preferred Experience
  • Demonstrated experience manipulating data with python using Pandas or similar
  • Experience deploying Python solutions in Azure, including Function apps, connecting services, and deploying Python applications.
  • Experience developing against generative AI platforms from Microsoft, Google or Facebook
  • Experience with Serverless Technologies
  • Experience with Event Driven Architecture
  • Experience processing and reporting against large amounts of data
  • Building ETL pipelines and working with Data Lakes, Lakehouses, Data Warehouses
  • Experience developing on the Databricks platform a plus
Required Skills
  • Basic understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, and Prompt engineering.
  • Ability to understand testing, test frameworks and plans, and deliver quality work.
  • Ownership mentality and excellent consulting skills.
Additional Information
  • The estimated annual pay range for this position is $120,000 - $165,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
