  • Part-time
  • Shift hours: Day shift, Monday or Friday 9 hour shift (8:30a - 6:00p)
  • Occasional days or weeks to cover PTO.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
Harborview's Eye Institute is a fast paced worksite seeing close to 200 patients a day. The staff nurse at the Harborview/UW Medicine Eye Institute will provide dedicated nursing support to the oncology ocular service.PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Organize weekly medications with the pharmacy teams.
  • Discuss medical issues with patients who have a new diagnosis of eye cancer and provide patient education.
  • Provide support across the UW Medicine Eye Institute to include telephone triage, lab draws, IV placement for clinic tests and clinic workflow.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Active, valid Washington State RN license required by start date.
  • Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
  • At least two years of RN nursing experience.
  • Must be self-directed, motivated, organized and be able to interpret information related to polices, procedure and programs. Commitment to ensuring equity, inclusion and diversity in healthcare delivery, team support and process improvement initiatives.
