- Applies broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to project engineering specifically in Electrical Engineering.
- Makes decisions independently concerning problems on the project.
- As assigned, represents the Resident Electrical Assistant Project Engineer on the project and with the client to resolve technical questions and as required to coordinate work.
- Maintains contacts with client representatives as directed, with suppliers, appropriate field personnel, Project Engineers, and Engineering disciplines to ensure the coordination of the work within the project or assignment and compliance with Bechtel/client requirements.
- Accountable to the Resident Electrical Assistant Project Engineer for coordination of Engineering and Construction/Procurement activities, in accordance with the established technical quality standards, cost, and schedule.
- Accountable to the Resident Electrical Assistant Project Engineer for ensuring that facilities and systems are installed in accordance with the engineering specifications and requirements.
- Coordinates with the designer of record and provides field support during construction.
- Ensures design documents reflect as-built conditions.
- Manages the specification of construction hold points and inspection requirements.
- Coordinates resolution of field questions related to field change notices and design change notices.
- Ensures Resident Engineering tasks are completed within budget and ensures trends are processed for facility scope changes.
- Level 1: B.S. in Electrical Engineering and 9 years related experience.
- Level 2: B.S. in Electrical Engineering and 13 years related experience.
- Must have the right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship
- Requires extensive technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and materials, applications of computer software to engineering problems to ensure the design is cost effective, in accordance with applicable safety, health, environmental regulations, customer requirements and engineering codes and standards.
- Must have working knowledge of engineering procedures, covering discipline deliverables, production and control, as well as organization and responsibilities for the Engineering Department.
- Thorough knowledge of business practices, project forecasting required.
- Experience in resolving complex technical problems and the ability to articulate explanations are essential.
- Excellent listening, oral and written communication, planning and organizational skills are essential.
- Knowledge & application of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards.
- Must be able to collaborate well with other disciplines. Ability to cope with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks.
- Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to, drawings for Electrical systems and equipment on manufacturing or industrial process facilities, data centers, central utility plants, or complex building Electrical systems.
- Ability to resolve design/installation issues working with appropriate stakeholders with proper configuration management onsite.
- Knowledge of medium voltage systems (34.5KV), low voltage systems (480 and 208/120V) which includes but not limited to; Switchgear, Switchboard/Distribution Board, Lighting Panel Design.
- Knowledge of Single Line Development, Control Schematics, Equipment Specification Development.
- Knowledge of Power System Studies and modeling Software such as ETAP, EasyPower to develop Load Flow, Short Circuit, Coordination, Arc Flash, etc.
- Knowledge of electrical raceway design and layout that includes but not limited to; lighting, communications, grounding layout, grounding designs/calculations, and lightning protection systems.
- Experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) industry (for example; power, oil and gas, LNG, petrochemical, etc.)
- Familiar with Revit MEP or other CAD modeling Software.
- Previous experience working in Semiconductor manufacturing facilities (not an absolute requirement).
- Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ISO-9000.
- Professional Registration License (P.E) in Electrical Engineering discipline (Power) in the State of Ohio or ability to obtain Ohio P.E license through reciprocity.
- Prior experience as either a Resident Engineer or Field Engineer at a project jobsite.
