customers' people, businesses, and time. Controls movement of vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic
through work zones using hand signals with a STOP/SLOW Paddle. Reviews, comprehends, and executes
temporary traffic control plans and/or standards to ensure work zones are properly installed and maintained.
Coordinates and communicates with customers to ensure the safety of all workers.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up, maintain, and remove Advance Warning Signs, Channelizing Devices, and other traffic control
Temporary Traffic Control Plans for simple and intermediate complexity work zones
- Maintain a Flagger Station by standing and controlling road users through the use of hand signals
- Drive a company vehicle to transport equipment, trailers, and team members to and from work sites
- Effective radio communication with team members on work site
- Follow all company safety procedures and practices
- Notify Supervisor of any potential safety issues or incidents
- Achieve organizational required training within timeframe established by Project Manager or Facility
- Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring to Protector
- Other duties as assigned
- Traffic Control Technician (TCT) Certification or 2000+ verifiable hours required
- High School Diploma or GED completion required
- Prior experience preferred in temporary traffic control services, utility industry, or construction industry preferred
- Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office products and customer relationship management systems
- Must be able to follow safe workplace practices
- Valid Driver's License void of suspension or revocation
Employee must be able to successfully handle the physical demands of this position, which include the
following:
- Hours of operation may vary due to staffing needs
- Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles
- Frequent exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites including high noise level in the
- The position may work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, not limited to heat,
- Position lifts or carries objects up to 50 pounds
- Stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field
- Position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb
