- Provides medical services and clinical education to patients in a clinic setting. Provides medical care and treatment to existing patients
- Promotes the professional practice of the clinic by maintaining and improving rapport with peers, patients, and the medical community.
- Responsible for dictating medical finding on patients in a timely and concise manner.
- Assists physicians in writing new prescriptions and prescription refills
- Communicates test results to patients in a timely manner
- Assists physicians in the completion of Worker's Compensation forms, dictation of attorney letters, and other responsibilities as requested.
- Assists with on-call duties as needed.
- Comply with safety activities, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission.
- Participate in performance improvement activities.
- Attend and participate in department meetings.
- Attend mandatory educational programs.
- Follow established guidelines as stated in hospital and departmental policies and procedures
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program or Master's degree in nursing from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
- Licensed or licensure eligible as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Nebraska and Iowa
- Minimum one year of clinical experience preferred
- Experience within an Orthopaedic environment (especially with knee and hip treatment)
- Efficient use of information systems, data processing systems, telecommunication devices, office equipment, and etc.
- This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
