Job DescriptionSenior Asset and Performance EngineerLeap29 have a fantastic opportunity which is available as Senior Asset and Performance Engineer to join the Asset Management team. In this role, you will oversee a growing portfolio of distributed generation and utility-scale projects throughout the United States.Reporting to the Director of Technical Asset Management, you will play a crucial role in the technical management of our projects. As a senior engineer in the renewable energy industry, your responsibilities will include analyzing and interpreting power plant performance data, developing predictive models, and collaborating with various teams to optimize operational efficiency.Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather, clean, and analyze large datasets related to power plant performance.
  • Develop predictive models and algorithms to forecast performance and troubleshoot underperforming systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven solutions.
  • Design and maintain APIs for data accessibility.
  • Develop and automate internal and external reporting processes.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in computer science, data science, math, physics, or relevant engineering field.
  • 5+ years of experience in performance engineering and data science.
  • Expertise in the solar energy industry.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and business intelligence tools.
  • Experience with PV performance modeling tools like PVsyst.
  • Strong project management and data mining skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in power industry performance analysis.
  • Familiarity with solar monitoring platforms.
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and statistical methods.
  • Cloud environment experience (AWS, Azure).
  • Project management certification (PMP).
