Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:This is a great opportunity for recent college graduates!We are seeking a detail-oriented Supply Chain Compliance Coordinator to join our team. This role is essential to ensuring legal, sustainable, and seamless trade by fulfilling requirements for supply chain risk management, trade compliance in wood products, and customs regulations.As Cabinetworks Group continues towards ever safer and more sustainable wood products, this role will offer a growing career path in the world of wood product compliance. By joining our team, this individual will be presented with opportunities that make a true impact to not only the company, but to global supply chains around the world.KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with supplier compliance communication, document requests, supply chain mapping, auditing, and ensuring supplier files and information are up to date and accurate
  • Survey suppliers regarding wood legality and supply chain traceability
  • Collect and organize supporting documents to trace wood back to harvest location and verify legality
  • Understand and assess for risk in supply chains (signs of illegal logging, document forgery, regional risk, species risk, etc.)
  • Assist in risk mitigation actions (auditing, verification of materials and sustainability certifications, etc.)
  • Collect and organize certificates from suppliers to verify compliance with formaldehyde emissions regulations (EPA TSCA Title VI)
  • Collect and organize supporting documents to trace composite wood back to the producer (mill)
  • Annually collect supporting documents to verify supplier compliance for Laminated wood components
  • Perform quarterly audit of commercial invoices from suppliers for compliance statements using document management system (DataMagine)
  • Audit inbound composite wood to ensure compliance to labelling requirements
  • Collaborate with Customs team to meet requirements and regulations relating to imported wood and wood products such as filing US Lacey PPQ Form 505 and import certifications
  • Assist with product compliance and qualification audits and onsite training for internal employees.
  • Assist with the Supplier Business Practices program on forced labor, worker rights, laws and regulations, safety, environmental, etc. in the company’s global supply chain.
  • Occasionally travel to Cabinetworks Group plants, trade association events, domestic suppliers, and training events (est. 4 times per year)
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/FORMAL TRAINING REQUIREMENT (As applicable):
  • Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain, International Business, Legal, or other related field preferred)
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT (number of years range & notes as applicable)
  • 2+ years of Compliance, Customs, Supply Chain, International Business, or related work experience.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: (MUST HAVE)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail and strong follow-through
  • Able to work with cross-functional business teams
  • Proficient writing skills in English
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to adapt to changing regulatory environments
  • Strong ethical standards to support legal and sustainable global trade in wood
  • Comfortable with managing detailed documentation in a variety of languages and formats
  • Skilled at documenting one’s actions
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with wood products and/or an understanding of wood supply chains, cabinets, furniture, etc.
  • Experience with auditing procedures both internal and external
  • Experience with social compliance programs (forced labor, child labor, discrimination, fair wages, etc.)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience performing risk assessments
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Sitting for Extended Periods: The nature of the job involves sitting at a desk or workstation for extended periods while performing administrative tasks, using a computer, and engaging in various in-office activities.
  • Computer Use: Proficient use of a computer, including typing, mouse manipulation, and viewing a computer screen for extended periods is essential.
  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to use office equipment such as phones, photocopiers, fax machines, and printers. This may require fine motor skills and dexterity.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Occasional lifting and carrying of office supplies, documents, and other materials, typically not exceeding a certain weight limit (e.g., 20 pounds).
  • Mobility: Ability to move within the office environment to access filing cabinets, printers, and other office equipment.

  • Visual Acuity: Ability to read printed and electronic documents, as well as distinguish colors, for tasks such as proofreading and reviewing documents.
  • Multitasking: The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize work effectively, which may require mental agility and adaptability.
