The international doctoral thesis in the field of biomedicine and food will be developed. The PhD will follow the research line "Liposome Development" led by Prof. Vicente M. Gómez López. In particular, the main work will focus on the synthesis of liposomes and their characterization by electron microscopy, spectrometry, microbiology and cytotoxicity for potential applications in food technology and biomedicine.
The main tasks would be:
- Design and development of liposomes.
- Determination of loading percentage in liposomal systems.
- HPLC and gas chromatography.
- Determination of size and zeta potential.
- Determination of morphology by electronic microscopy.
- Thermogravimetric analysis.
- Fourier transform spectrophotometry (FTIR) analysis.
- Determination of antimicrobial effect.
- Determination of antitumoral effect.
- Writing reports and scientific publications.
- Participation in conferences/congress/specialized courses.
- Attending meetings/internships at national and international level is envisaged.The research activities will be carried out in the Green and Innovative Technologies for Food, Environment and Bioengineering Research Group (FEnBeT), located at UCAM HiTech, Sport & Health Innovation Hub, Avda. Andres Hernandez Ros 1, Guadalupe de Maciascoque, 31107, Murcia, Spain.The PhD student candidates must have:
- B. Sc. in Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology with a minimum of 300 ECTS.
- Demonstrated experience in microscopy and/or spectrometric, chromatographic, tissue culture and/or microbiological methods. Attach publications related to the above experience.
- Advanced English level (B2). Attach your English certification.
- High impact factor publications according to JCR (Q1) metrics are not compulsory but an asset.
- A master's degree in chemistry, biology, food or microbiology is not compulsory but an asset.
- Experience as assistant research for at least 1 year not compulsory but an asset.What we offer.- Pre-doctoral contract.
