DescriptionThe Semel Institute is seeking to hire a full time Staff Research Associate I to complete the duties of Tester. Job duties include: * 1. Administering Cognitive Test Batteries: Administers all neuropsychological & psychophysiological measures to all subjects (patients and controls), including measures of basic cognition, social cognition, and electrophysiology paradigms. * 2. Test scheduling:- Contacting potential subjects.- Giving scheduled subjects reminder calls.- Interacting with other testers and coordinators to schedule testing sessions * 3. Data Management:- Coding and scoring all collected data- Transferring files for back-up and offsite data storage- Recording completed measures on spreadsheets, etc.- Summarizing test scores onto study record forms.- Entering data into secure web-based data entry system. * 4. fMRI Data Collection & Management: operates scan console, prepares subjects for fMRI scan, maintains scanner safety protocols. Attends regular UCLA CCN scanner user meetings, communicates with UCLA CCN scanner staff as needed, performs scanner laptop maintenance and manages the fMRI tracking spreadsheet for all fMRI studies. * 5. File maintenance:- Accurately transferring and recording information in study tracking logs.- Maintaining protection of identifiable subject information. * 6. Assorted Administrative Tasks:- Making photocopies- Maintaining all blank study forms- Complete and remain current on all required training coursework.- Attend bi-weekly conference calls. Pay Range: $25.75 - $30.71 hourly.QualificationsElectrophysiological Equipment-very frequent Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or a related field preferred. Ability to work effectively as part of a clinical research team. Experience working with clinical samples (specifically psychiatric patients). Two years experience as a tester is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated history of reliability. Ability to work effectively with other staff members. Careful attention to detail. Experience working with and administering neuropsychological tests to patients with Schizophrenia. Meticulous organizational skills. Self-starting nature.
