- Serve as client facing project manager on ITS projects with a focus on improving safety and operations.
- Develop and manage scope, schedule, and budget for projects and programs.
- Provide written and verbal updates on the status of projects to clients and internal senior management.
- Present technical results and recommendations to clients.
- Coordinate with a wide range of subject matter experts including survey, roadway design, and environmental to successfully deliver client projects.
- Work with client managers and operational leaders to develop project pursuit strategies and plans.
- Utilize knowledge and experience in the design of ITS systems and operations.
- Assist engineers in developing technical approaches and review technical results prepared by others.
- Assist and Lead project team in the preparation of ITS Design, TSMO operational planning, ITS communication, conceptual designs for intersections, and/or Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) designs.
- Under leadership of senior program managers, coordinate and interface with clients to discuss technical and operational elements of the project and present analysis results.
- Provide training and guidance to junior engineers and interns in areas of technical proficiency and consultancy.
- 7+ years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Ability to obtain Florida PE within 2 months of hire.
- Must possess a U.S. Driver’s License
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: FDOT design standards, ITS design principles, Integration of new technologies, TSMO operations, emerging technologies,
- Understanding of the application of ITS, TSMO, and Traffic design and operational principles including ITS systems, technologies, application development, and development of state DOT requirements, policies, manuals and procedures.
- Experience in operational and/or safety analysis.
- Experience/familiarity with Microstation and/or Bentley OpenRoads.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well in groups as well as independently.
- Master’s Degree in Transportation Engineering
- Experience managing tasks and/or projects.
- Experience with FDOT clients and projects.
