- Payroll Operations lead has primary responsibility for all aspects of payroll operations processing, including ADP payroll BAU process deployment to ensure a consistent focus and involvement in driving efficiencies and process improvements.
- Directs the actions of the payroll operations team members and is responsible for all tasks necessary to accomplish company objectives:
- Shares knowledge and information through regular communications and facilitation within the Takeda Payroll Team
- Position requires minimal direction on strategic payroll issue
- Ensures accurate and timely payroll processing for all Takeda employees, based on salary / payment information provided, for the US, PR and Canadian payrolls, for multiple legal entities.
- Monitors payroll Equity transactions, Domestic and International relocation reporting, and assignee mobility payments and reporting to ensure accurate payment and recording for expat and inpat population.
- Manages operations and service delivery to ensure the most effective services are being provided
- Maintains internal controls relating to payroll practices and records and monitor these on a continuing basis
- Develop, implement and update payroll procedures necessary to comply with Takeda corporate policies and governmental agency regulations
- Conceives and implements process enhancements to increase the efficiency and satisfaction with payroll services
- Coordinates with other departments within People Solutions team - including Compensation & Benefits, Equity, Mobility, Employee Life Cycle Management and People Resources Hub, working with all HR functions to ensure delivery of quality services and resolve operational problems
- Participates in cross-departmental and corporate groups designed to implement or improve payroll programs and services.
- Manages current resources to identify and develop solutions to complex payroll related issues
- Lead and manage the payroll operations department, including hiring, training, and performance management of payroll staff
- Stay informed about changes in payroll laws, regulations, and industry best practices, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws
- Manage relationships with payroll service providers and other external partners
- Monitor payroll processes and systems for efficiency and effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to streamline operations
- Prepare and analyze payroll reports, metrics, and KPIs to monitor performance and identify trends
- Handle special payroll projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required; 7+ years of experience in payroll in a supervisory or manager role.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred, but not required
- Skills in process analysis, assessment and improvement as well as creating a team environment where continuous improvement is encouraged
