- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management positions with an emphasis on structural and/or architectural steel projects.
- Strong experience with steel construction and/or steel fabrication.
- General knowledge of Steel Erection standards and procedures.
- Proven experience with people management, strategic planning, risk management, and change management.
- Strong working knowledge of project specifications, project manuals, Architectural and Structural drawings.
- Ability to read design documents, Shop drawings and familiarity with design specifications (AISC, AWS, and materials).
- Must be able to develop, maintain, and modify project budgets.
- Ability to determine and track current costs, change orders and forecast future costs.
- Knowledge and understanding of general construction contracts and sub-contract language.
- Ability to maintain a professional relationship with clients, general contractors, engineers, field personnel, coworkers, project managers, design, and detail personnel.

- Responsible for a thorough understanding of each project’s definition, scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Manage project budgets, including monthly project reviews with upper management.
- Prepare scope of work assessments and manage all quotes from outside subcontractors.
- Prepare and negotiate all project change orders.
- Prepares time and cost delay claims.
- Perform schedule analysis for change orders and claims
- Work with PE to coordinate all detailing/shop drawings, field drawings, and all other project details with our clients, field personnel, and other involved parties.
- Responsible for the execution and improvement of project schedules and deadlines
- May manage multiple projects in various stages of completion, depending upon size and complexity.
- Ensures all contractual terms and obligations of such projects are maintained.
- Ensures projects meet cost requirements.
- Interfaces with necessary departments to determine the scheduling of work and materials.
- Meets with key personnel to ensure timeliness of project.
- Suggests corrective actions and/or develops recovery plans when delays are anticipated or occur.
- Assesses actual progress based on weekly production meetings.
- Meets with customers to identify potential barriers with resolutions that maximize production and minimize costs.
- Meets and confers with Owner, Architect, Engineers, Contractors, Detailers, and Production crew to verify accuracy and completeness of all construction drawings.
- Ensure all aspects of projects are properly and thoroughly documented.
- Directs, coordinates, and monitors activities being completed by project teams to ensure the overall quality of work.
- Creates and submits timely billings and necessary supporting documentation.
