Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, procedures and policies, the Registered Ultrasound Technologist performs a varietyof ultrasound exams including abdominal, OB-GYN and vascular. The Ultrasonographer also assists physician with certain invasive procedures.Education:Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program, Vascular Sonography program or Radiologic Technology program.Licensure/Certification: Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in AB, OB/GYN and RVT or certification by the ARRT in sonography and vascular sonography required within 1 year of eligibility or 1 year of hire, whichever is later, unless the associate works in an area where only one of the above specialties is performed (EG.. Associate is hired/slashed works where only vascular exams are performed, then only Vascular registry is required. BLS required.Experience: Ultrasound experience preferred.Skills: Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to exhibit patience and tact and maintain a professional and courteous demeanor in all situations with all constituents including patients, physicians and other associates. Must also demonstrate flexibility with work schedule changes, be cooperative and collaborative, and have the documented ability to work with speed and proficiency while under stress.
