- Develops instructional materials and conducts training for Chemistry technicians and staff personnel.
- An incumbent at this level should have in-depth knowledge of instructional design theory (SAT/TSD).
- This level is also responsible for maintaining training programs in accordance with nuclear industry, regulatory, and legal requirements.
- Ensures accredited Chemistry training program and instructional training materials are maintained current by incorporating changes.
- Maintains knowledge of plant operational chemistry conditions to support the analysis, design, and development of high-quality training materials.
- Conducts trainee evaluations in various training settings (classroom, laboratory, OJT, etc.,).
- Supports station business initiatives, refueling outages, Emergency Planning (EP) duties, and other projects.
- The Chemistry instructor is required to participate in instructional continuing training.
- Must also participate in INPO and management audits.
- Ensures training records are complete, accurate and auditable.
- Demonstrates leadership skills by upholding high standards in all training settings.
- Associates/bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in chemistry or related technical degree or equivalent work experience.
- Four or more years of instructional chemistry experience.
- Nuclear (preferable) or other related industry experience teaching chemistry initial and/or continuing training.
- Knowledge of and experience using the systematic approach to training (SAT) process.
- Technical acuity/acumen and experience in power plant (preferably nuclear) chemistry (commercial or military).
- Good interpersonal skills, effective writing and verbal communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to instruct.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- SRO license or SRO certification (BWR/PWR).
