- The Counselor will provide the most appropriate and highest level of service to clients.
- Manage a caseload of clients and provide case management services; possibly primarily mandated by probation.
- Complete intake assessments.
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions.
- Make accurate diagnosis and confer with supervisor when needed.
- The Counselor will provide each client with a realistic crisis plan.
- Work with clients to develop and reach treatment goals and change goals as needed.
- Efficiently access other necessary services for client.
- Complete progress notes, treatment plans and other OASAS required documentation in a timely manner.
- Conduct and record all results of laboratory screenings.
- Maintain contact with client legal mandates and notify of significant issues.
- Facilitate groups for clients depending upon client need.
- The Counselor will register appropriate clients in impaired driver system.
- Correspond with collateral family members and agencies in a timely and professional manner.
- Acquire knowledge of modalities relevant to client population.
- Maintain reasonable kept appointment rate.
- Contact clients by phone and letter regarding missed appointments.
- Obtain all necessary signatures and documentation related to client care.
- Maintain up-to-date progress notes, treatment plans, and Outpatient Treatment Reviews (OTRs).
- Terminate cases when appropriate and using the appropriate procedures.
- Inform office staff and ensure that clients are informed of schedule changes.
- Adhere to OASAS regulations.
- Meet regularly with supervisor to review cases.
- All other duties as assigned.
