- Delivers care to patients, performing established nursing procedures utilizing population-specific guidelines within an urgent care environment. Triages walk-in and call-in patients and assesses per approved protocols.
- Responsibilities:
- Performs assessment and triage of walk-in patients per protocol. Handles emergency situations. Utilizes the nursing process to coordinate and provide patient care. Provides safe, accurate and clinically competent direct care to patients and families, recognizing patient needs.
- Seeks appropriate assistance and uses clinic resources to enhance clinical decision making. Prepares patients for examinations. Obtains health history information, takes accurate vital signs, and reviews medications. Documents plan of care.
- Assists with office procedures. Administers treatments and performs diagnostic testing as ordered by the physician. Administers injections and medications. Performs IV therapy as ordered by physicians. Documents phone calls per protocol.
- Intervenes in complex patient and family situations. Utilizes community resources. Utilizes the nursing process based on research and evidence-based outcomes.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
- Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years experience. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. Preferred: PALS.
- 6 months of nursing experience. Preferred: 2 years of nursing experience
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
